About our Council

E. G. Alberque Sr. Council #2229 was chartered on Feb 21 1921. 

We serve the parish of St. Francis of Assisi in Ridgefield Park. We are part of the largest Catholic Men’s fraternal organization in the world. Our focus is to support our Church in its mission of bringing the gospel to the world. 

Members are invited to attend our semi-monthly meetings and participate in our activities on a local and state-wide basis. We meet on the First and Third Tuesday of each month at 8pm. 

The business meetings are usually short and are followed by a social evening. 

Our Council is involved with a number of charitable and community-centric activities.

• Annual Food Drive to support disadvantaged citizens in the Ridgefield Park community.
• Annual Drive to provide financial support for Developmentally Challenged citizens in our community. 
• Monthly Scrap drive to support our Charitable efforts
• Sponsors of the Baby Bottle Bommerrang Drive to support unmarried mothers
• Annual supporters of the Pride in Priests dinner honoring our Parish Priests on a county-wide basis.
• In conjunction with the Parish, provide monthly lunches for the Bergen County Homeless Shelter.
• Sponsors of several programs for the younger members of our community:

3. Awarding of Scholarships for Catholic High Schools
